Crosby Beach

On Sunday, Josie and I went to Crosby beach, north of Liverpool, to see the Gormley installation, Another Place.
It consists of 100 cast-iron, life-size figures spread out along three kilometres of the foreshore, stretching almost one kilometre out to sea.
It was a crisp, early Spring-like day, and we were surprised at how many people were out and about!

  1. Brilliant set of photos - I love them - spare and minimalist - just the details that matter. I didn't realise that the barnacles grew on them - the first shot with the barnacle beard is wonderful - and the last shot where he is almost being reclaimed by the sea, and the ripples of blue and orange. They are good enough for an exhibition!
