Mesnes Park with a new (old) manual lens!

I was in Mesnes Park in Wigan by 9am, complete with my Fuji X-E2 camera and a recently purchased Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Lydith 30mm manual lens, made around 1960!

I love using old manual lenses on my cameras, it makes me do the work, rather than just pointing and clicking!!

Here are the results, and I have to say that this lens is one of the smoothest and sharpest I've yet discovered!!!

Long Wall Wood Walk

The Winstanley Estate, long abandoned by the Bankes family, is known as Long Wall Wood where its boundary reaches public land.
Parts of the old wall still exist, though neglected and 'borrowed' in many places!

An Hour Before Sunset on Ashurst's Beacon

Why?

I travelled to the Beacon to take clear sky images late in the afternoon, but was freezing cold by the time I left, which was an hour before Sunset.

I'll make another trip to capture the sunset without having to wait two hours!

Sunny New Brighton

Josie and I appear to be doing a tour of the North West beaches at the moment, we headed through the Kingsway Tunnel under the Mersey and out onto the Wirral for today's trip.

Sunny Blackpool

Josie and I took advantage of a beautiful sunny March day and decided to walk the Blackpool Promenade from its beginning at Squires Gate all the way to The Tower, a distance of almost 3.5 miles! It is flat and smooth all the way.

After a coffee break, we cheated, and in a first for both of us, caught the tram back to the terminus!!

We took some images along the way, particularly of the big bright blue sky!!

Fuji X-E2, 18mm Fuji lens.
