London Street Art

My sister Hilary took us on a 'Street Art' walk around Hoxton, Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Spitalfields in London to find the latest 'Street Art' on show on the buildings, shutters, doors and walls of these areas.
The work is colourful, huge, striking and shows very talented artists' skills!!

I know the work of one or two of the artists, such as  David Walker, Otto Schade and Stik (first three images below)

Modern London Architecture

During my visit to London, I found new buildings that hadn't been completed last time I was there......

........in September 2015, especially round the King's Cross area.

I can't believe buildings are put up so FAST in London!!

These last three are a combination of old and new....the gas holders have been temporarily moved whilst new apartment blocks are built on their site, then the old Grade Two listed cast iron frameworks are being reconstructed around them!!

   This framework has been converted to a 'Reflecting Garden'.

                               

Haigh Plantations

I spent an hour in the lower Plantations on a very bright Spring morning.

The trees and vegetation are still quite bare, and a lot of clearing of the Rhododendrons has taken place, so there are good sections of shadows and light to photograph.

Long Wall Wood In Spring Sunshine

I had a walk through Long Wall Wood, part of the Winstanley Estate grounds in the morning sunshine, looking for signs of Spring growth.

I used two manual lenses on my Fuji X-E2, firstly a Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Lydith 30mm, then an Itorex 135mm. I've split the images into groups based on these two lenses.

Billinge Hill in Spring Sunshine

Josie and I had a walk around the Billinge Hill area in the warm Spring sunshine, the trees are still bare, the Bluebells aren't yet out in the woods, the crops are just sprouting and the air is still clear and fresh without any haze.
