Update

I'm sure everyone will agree that this Summer has been a washout, but I suppose that's no excuse really for a photographer. I should be out in all weathers, capturing landscapes and architecture in their different moods!!

I entered 25 photos into the Landscape Photographer Of The Year Competition run by Charlie Waite, but none were shortlisted. This was quite a disappointment at first, as I suppose every photographer thinks his pictures have merit, but having read other blogs on the subject, and seen other 'rejects', I'm less unhappy!!

Here are a few selected photos since my last post, just to prove I'm still trying!

This is a copy of theWigan Casino sign, now hanging in the Grand Arcade inWigan, on the site of the original Casino.

A view across Windermere towards the Langdales from Waterhead on a stormy day.

'Orange Wildflowers', used my fixed 50mm on F1.8 to get the Bokeh, really like the effect, posted to a Bokeh group on Flickr and got hits!!

Water reflections with added Photoshop blur for effect.

This is called 'Rusted and Rotted', you can create beauty from any old thing!

'Tacking Round The Buoy' at Scotmans Flash, I loved the reflection on this one! Thanks to the Horizon Policeman for his guidance!

Olympic Champion and Tour De France Winner Bradley Wiggins and Bernie Eisel passing through Billinge on the Tour of Britain.

Mark Cavendish, 'The Manx Missile', wearing his World Champion Road Race shirt

The rest of the Peloton.

A black and white study called 'Under The Pier' taken at Southport. I only had my Iphone, just goes to show, you should always have your camera with you! Mind you, it didn't turn out too bad...

Framed Photos

I've been refreshing the photo frames around the house that have my pictures in them. It's a satisfying little task that keeps me busy and brightens up the rooms they're in with new colours. It's too easy to walk past a picture frame and not look because you're used to the picture, but changing them now and again catches the eye. I decided to use Wild Flowers as a theme in one frame, and three of my Rhosneigr shots in another.
