Structure, Symmetry and Detail at Another Place

On a crisp and bright December morning, armed with a new wide-angle lens, we visited Crosby Beach, where a fast incoming tide was quickly covering Gormley's figures!

Deciding to concentrate on the areas around the installation, I made these images, choosing structures, symmetry and details, rather unusual for a lens designed to capture broader scenes!

Liverpool Architecture

Taking advantage of the crisp, blue skies and Winter sunshine, I captured various images around the City, mainly using new and striking architecture for interesting shapes.
The new Beatles statue on the Pierhead is superb, and the modern inside of the Central Library contrasts amazingly with its Victorian exterior.
The glass facades of the new Pier front buildings provide brilliant reflections and unique possibilities alongside the older, more familiar outlines from the heyday of the Port docks.

Poppies Weeping Window, St George's Hall, Liverpool

Josie and I visited Liverpool on a crisp, bright Winter's day to see the Poppy Installation at St George's Hall, where it is currently on tour around the Country.

The first image is an explanation of the installation.
