Spinningfields Up

After my morning in the Victorian Northern Quarter, I moved on to the brand new Spinningfields area of Manchester, down towards Salford and the River Irwell.

The skies are being closed in by the new high-rise offices and apartments!

The Beetham Tower is on Deansgate,
about half a mile from Spinningfields,
but as the tallest building in Manchester (so far),
deserves an image!

Fairy Glen

We wanted to see the Bluebells at their finest, so I decided NOT to take a camera in order to concentrate on the beauty of the nature around me.

I ended up taking loads of images with my Iphone instead!!

Green - Manchester Northern Quarter.

I set myself a task of finding as many different green subjects as I could in one hour whilst visiting Manchester's vibrant Northern Quarter this morning.
Fortunately there are plenty of bright colours in this bohemian centre of alternative culture (and green is very popular)!

Hoghton Tower

A sunny Bank Holiday Monday saw Josie and I visit this ancient de Hoghton family seat in Lancashire County.

There's a link to their website with some fascinating details here:
