Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Crest.jpg

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) is a Royal Air Force flight of No.1 Group, which provides an aerial display group comprising an Avro Lancaster, a Supermarine Spitfire and a Hawker Hurricane. This Summer the Canadian Memorial Lancaster joined the group for its tours.

There is no more iconic sight and sound than these World War 2 planes in majestic flight!!

Red Arrows at Southport Airshow

I spent a marvellous day on the sands of Southport beach watching the second day of the Airshow.
An absolutely superb spectacle featuring a great mix of modern fast jets, helicopters and classic warbirds.

This year's show was opened by the iconic Red Arrows, and this set of images features some of their signature aerobatics!!

I hope I've done them justice, because I shot over one hundred images of their display!!

Bolton Abbey: Shadows and Light in Black and White.

I love photographing architecture of all styles and ages, but there is something majestic about the shadows and light cast from these ruined walls.

I am firmly of the photographic school that Black and White images enhance structure and quality.

Bolton Abbey: Setting The Scene

The grounds around the ancient ruins of Bolton Abbey are beautifully maintained, and play a large part in 'setting the scene'.

Bolton Abbey Scenes

We enjoyed a wonderful sunny day out at Bolton Abbey in Yorkshire, our first visit there for over twenty years. Suffice to say, it's not changed much, still peaceful and stunningly beautiful.

This set of images features the area around the Abbey.
