St Matthews Highfield

On Boxing Day I went for a local stroll to the nearest church in the area. I used my new 45-175mm lens on my Panasonic Lumix G1 for these shots. Thanks Hilary!!

Scotmans Flash

I went to the flashes and canal early today to catch the low sun and early mist. There were plenty of people out and about too! I've done a mixture of colour and monochrome images for this set.

I went for a walk around Billinge and Kings Moss on a crisp, clear and cold afternoon and came back with this selection.

Frosty Plants

I used my Macro Tubes on these four photos of a frozen St. John's Wort and Sycamore seeds on the garden table.

Multiple Exposures

As the title says, these three photos are a combination of six exposures each, all combined together to produce complete light trails on the M6 at Windy Arbour.
I used my tripod and remote trigger with the camera set to Bulb to achieve the variety of length of trails, and then used Photoshop to combine the images.

Artistic Licence

I only had my Iphone with me when we visited Liverpool this week, so instead of struggling with poor quality photos (especially inside the Cathedral), I've applied 'artistic licence' to a few shots. I only took the photos in the first place to give me an idea of the lighting and views for a future visit with Canon camera and tripod, which are allowed in the Cathedral!

Princess Elizabeth

A few different pics for the blog this time. Had an opportunity with a friend to take these photos today of the Princess Elizabeth, the steam train that welcomed Queen Elizabeth II to the start of her Diamond Jubilee Pageant in London last June.
I had to do some serious cloning work in Photoshop to clear the cables and electric wires to create a more authentic atmosphere!
The third one was my usual posterized alteration of one of the originals!

Just to bring everything up-to-date, a modern Virgin Train came through too!!

Lest We Forget

I went to Wigan Cemetery to pay my respects to a relative from the First World War as I do every November, and took a few photos exploring a quieter area of the Cemetery I'd not seen before.

More neglected graves. What a contrast to the War Graves!
